News From Band Alumni
Dear CHS Band FamilyThis fall OSU Trumpet choir ( Directed by Jay Chen ) will perform in China.
Our Alumni, Brian McFadden is one of the members.
They are going to have a farewell concert on Sunday, August 23rd at 7:30 pm in Benton Hall (Room 202/Band Room).
The concert should last about an hour with no intermission.
Please come and enjoy their performance.
Since it is a fundraiser, they charge a $5 admission fee.

Summer Band Camp Update
The 3rd Annual Summer Youth Band Camp was held at CHS July 20-July 29, 2009. Forty students, 6th-11th grades participated from Linus Pauling Middle School, Memorial Middle School, Crescent Valley High School and CHS.
The band followed four evenings of rehearsals by presenting concerts locally at Central Park, Gracewinds Music, Corvallis High School and concluding with a finale at the Benton County Fair.
Featured selections included: "The National Anthem", "Proud Mary", "California Girls", "Washington & Lee Swing", "Rumba Numba", "Swedish Folk Rhapsody", "Billboard March" and "A Day at Disneyland"....a medley highlighting the Mickey Mouse March, Great Outdoors, It's A Small World, You Can Fly, You Can Fly, Best Time of Your Life and Yo ho-A Pirate's Life for Me. The four concerts were well received by audiences. The commitment demonstrated by band members and their families is much appreciated!
Many thanks to Mr. Price and the Friends of CHS Band for sponsoring this summer's band events. Special THANKS to Sharon Oefelein of Gracewinds Music for graciously hosting our group amid a very hectic Saturday morning of "crazy daze" festivities! Our appreciation to Yuki Tanaka for her beautiful graphics featured on the 2009 t-shirts, as well as her talents in capturing the amazing photos now available for download on the blog. You won't want to miss them!
